You can select a venue which is closer to the place where the nuptials are held. This is convenient because you can save the travelling time from church to the venue. You can save money too. You can select venues according to your requirements. There are different types of venues. Nowadays, weddings are held in Church halls, which are available near to the Church. If church halls are not available, you can go for open grounds, School halls and hotels.
How to choose the Venue ?
Choose a venue which will suit your needs and based on number of guests. If you have a large number of guests you have to go for a big hall to ensure the comfort of your guests. If the hall is small and you have a large number of invited guests then your guests will feel uncomfortable. Ensure that sufficient space is available in the hall for free movement of guests. You can choose a closed venue or an open venue, depending on your requirement. Some venues have certain restrictions like not permitting certain bands, sound and caterers. Before booking the hall, please inquire about any restrictions. Secondly, check the hall timings, particularly the closing time. Find out when the band needs to stop and when the lights will be turned off and finally, when you need to vacate the hall.

Hotels and Hall
These venues are ideal for a maximum of 250 to 300 guests. There are no restrictions on time and other facilities. Arrangements like food, chairs, tables, service, lighting and air-conditioning are done under one roof. Quality of service is usually better than in a church hall or an open-ground venue. For a low-budget wedding, if you have enough space at your home or any other suitable local venue, you can select such venues. Receptions at these venues have no time restrictions and will be more informal.
Also check if there are any restrictions on decorations i.e. use of cello tape etc. Please also find out if serving alcohol is allowed and any other restrictions on serving alcohol. Obtain prior permission and license for the bar.
